Hello and happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! Today is also my birthday so I wanted to make a post today! So let's get started!
Every once and a while I break out...like really bad, no matter how well I take care of my skin! I was my face twice a day, remove my makeup before bed, but sometimes it seems like it's just not enough. So I went to my friend who is from Japan and his skin is flawless! He shared this little tip with me and now I'm sharing it with all of you!
My friend uses salt water to treat his breakouts and prevent future breakouts. He fills a bowl full of boiling water and then places a towel over his head to create a sauna for his face to open his pores. Then afterwards he applies the salt water to his face which dries the pimples out. I will give you the steps in detail :)
The things you will need are:
1. A big bowl
2. Hot water
3. Salt
4. Lemon (optional)
5. Towel
Here are the steps to clear skin:
1. Boil water on the stove, when the water is hot enough pour it into a big bowl. The bowl should be big enough for your head to fit in (think of a big salad bowl).
2. Use warm water and dissolve salt into a separate bowl.
3. Next, cut a lemon in half and squeeze the lemon juice into the water. Lemon is another remedy for acne. It dries out pimples and prevents them from coming back. This step is optional.
4. Now place the bowl of hot water on a flat surface. Lower head close enough until you feel the steam on your face.
5. Place the towel over your head and let your face steam for at least five minutes or until you can't take the heat anymore.
6. After five minutes, remove the towel from your face and apply salt water to your face. It may tingle a little since your pores have been opened.
7. Let salt water sit on face for 1-2 hours before rinsing it off and continuing skin care routine as normal.
And that's it! I just tried this out today and my face already looks clearer! The only thing I didn't like is that while the salt water was on my face, my skin started feeling tight since the salt was drying my skin out. Other than that, I think I will use this tip again!
Comment and let me know what you think if you try it!
Have a good night everyone :)
